Meditation
101,
Rob
MacGregor, Moksha
Yoga Studio
The
session will feature an introduction to meditation with an emphasis
on practice. We'll move into meditative states using a variety
of approaches, including deep relaxation, breath work, guided
visualization, and mindfulness. The session is oriented for
both beginners and experienced meditators who can pick up new
techniques. By the time the session ends, participants will
have experienced a meditative state and will have the tools
and incentive to create a regular practice. They will also become
more aware of the power of their thoughts and how those thoughts
attract related experiences. The ability to remain mindful of
our thoughts in our daily experiences allows us to create the
life we desire.

Moving
to balance: Redefining your practice for greater health,
Leigh
Fountain, RYT500, Life Force, LLC
Do
you find your yoga practice doesn’t really solve your
day-to-day muscle aches and pain? One reason may be linked to
the muscles used in your daily activities that are also being
lengthened and shortened in your yoga practice. Many yoga classes
spend the bulk of time doing forward bends and hip openers in
class – both of these are found in most everyone’s
daily activities (e.g., sitting, arms forward) – leading
to common issues of tight back, hamstrings, quads, groin, and
shoulder muscles. At times, if you want to get in balance you
have to start by being a bit out of balance, so we’ll
skip the forward bends and hip openers. |

KripaluChakra
Yoga - Attune to Your Body's Deeper Wisdom,
Acharya
PremShakti, E-RYT500, PremYoga Center
Kripalu
yoga teaches awareness and energy techniques that make yoga
a potent catalyst for physical healing, psychological growth,
and spiritual awakening. PremShakti’s chakra class is
renowned for releasing stress and blockages (physical/mental/emotional),
opening the heart, and increasing your sense of total vibrant
well-being, as well as having fun. This is a favorite class
of many experienced practitioners and yoga teachers, and is
easy to follow and fulfilling for beginners.
This
is yoga from the ancient, classic yoga tradition. Yoga may begin
as a physical practice, but we'll show you how it can naturally
evolve to take you much deeper. You'll attune yourself to the
profound inner wisdom of your body and breath. You'll unfold
latent energy, intelligence, creativity, and love. You'll experience
a flow of postures, breathing, and relaxation culminating in
a sacred meditation on your own divinity. |
Individuality
- Trade competition and judgment on the mat for self-acceptance,
Jerry
Jefferson, RYT500 CYT CPT CGEI, Living Fit Today,
LLC
This
introspective class invites you to be yourself. Explore your
body’s uniqueness and allow your body, rather than your
mind, to guide your poses. Have a little fun while learning
how to recognize when competition and judgment are controlling
your physical practice. Honor where your body is in the present
moment. Give yourself permission to fall out of a pose, smile,
and not take yourself so seriously. Put the gavel down, court
is dismissed!!!!!!

Music will be performed by Felicia

The
Universe is calling you. Are you going to answer?,
Angela
Lutin, FlyWheel
We
get signs everyday. Some are subtle; some we see loud and clear.
Angela Lutin, author of Play BIG discusses the ways we can become
more in tune with the world around us and hear even the smallest
signs that are signaling us on our path. Often times we ask
for answers to our most compelling questions but fail to see
those answers that have already been placed before us. We will
discuss heart-opening exercises in order to prepare the senses,
meditation techniques to calm the mind, and becoming satisfied
with the answers when we do receive them. A question and answer
session will follow.

Organic
Mandala Flow,
Angel Lucia, E-RYT500, LMT, Bindu Yoga Studio
Organic
Mandala Flow is a practice that will free the body and bring
one into a more organic and free flowing space of exploration!
Practicing in this way honours and releases old patterning through
natural spiral and circular movements and sequences. Our bodies
learn to rebalance repair and rediscover the ease and joy of
freedom of movement that may have been lost through injury,
overworking, stress and tension holding. Both dynamic and restorative,
these flows create strength, stability, and fluidity in the
spine joints and limbs. Using the breath we let go of the tensions
and holding patterns and find lightness of being. Enter the
flow and play! |

Alignment
Delight,
Mark
Maldonado, RYT200 Intuitive Yoga/SportsYoga M2 Studio
Discover
the subtle adjustments and alignments to help you through the
most standard of postures. With a confident foundation in these
postures you can start your yogic journey through Asanas with
a connection and intention to learn. We will cover Warrior I&II,
Side-angle, Triangle, cobra, chaturanga, updog, revolved triangle
and revolved side-angle. There will be some direction to the
breath but the focus will be to learn why and how your posture
works or doesn't and feel the difference yourself and learn
why your practice could be so much more. Its suggested to have
a block and review your ability to calculate directions and
intuitively adjust to make it your own practice and not about
others around you, learn your body and you will be the one to
watch.

PRANAYAMA-
The Master Key
Jessica
OM (Stiehm) & Aaron "Ananda Das" Erickson, RYT200
JAI Healing Arts
Through
pranayama we learn to utilize the full capacity of our breath.
We absorb 70% or more of our life force energy through the breath-
more than food, more than water, more than sunlight. Our breath
(which consists of more than just air) is our direct link to
all of the energy in the Universe. Breath is more than an oxygen
and carbon exchange that happens within the body; Through it,
we receive subtle energies from the Universe and our environment
that sustain our life, and can even heal our bodies. PRANA is
that life force energy. Through the practice of conscious breathing
we are able to collect, store, and direct prana within our system
and even beyond the body. We become aware of the conscious life-energy
(prana-shakti) that lies behind all of creation.
Master your breath and you master the mind... Start to tap into
your potential through pranayama.

(Nuad
Borarn) Vedic Thai-Yoga, "Lazyman's Yoga"
Demonstration, Jessica
OM (Stiehm) & Aaron "Ananda Das" Erickson,
RYT200 Vedic Conservatory
Vedic
Thai-Yoga Bodywork or Nuad Borarn, is an ancient healing art
viewed as the "Martial Arts of healing." Vedic "medicine"
takes into account the multi-dimensional aspects of our being
and understands the depth of healing. Vedic thai-yoga combines
the sacredness of vedic tradition and beliefs with traditional
thai massage, to create a very healing & rejuvenating experience
for the both the receiver and the giver! We will be demonstrating
some techniques of a typical session that will include passive
assisted stretching, rhythmic compressions, acupressure points,
reflexology, energy work, breath work, and meditation. A vedic
thai yoga session is always a sacred offering of loving service
(Bhakti.) There are various positions the receiver can be placed
in throughout a session, including supine, side-lying, prone,
and seated, all while remaining passive. The art is continuously
transforming and has recently made its way into the "acrobatic"
field, adding therapeutic "flying" techniques that
will also be displayed. |
